PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY
Stone & Johnson’s Professional Liability Group concentrates in the defense and prosecution of professional negligence claims against brokers, outside claims adjusters, attorneys and healthcare providers including hospitals, group practices, nursing homes and adult day care facilities. The firm’s clients include individual professionals and insurers who have either taken unreasonably high verdicts or have been forced to pay large settlements due to the negligence of their counsel, underlying counsel or other service provider.
Stone & Johnson's Professional Liability Group has also successfully defended architects and engineers being sued for negligent design, supervision and engineering arising from various construction projects, including commercial and residential buildings, road and bridge construction and improvements. This experience also includes traffic safety engineering and site plans.
Stone & Johnson attorneys are uniquely situated to manage these cases. Their experience in defending and managing complex, multi-party litigation affords them unique insight into the obligations of each professional on the defense team. This insight allows Stone & Johnson attorneys to quickly understand and practically judge the strengths and weaknesses of a professional malpractice case.
Stone & Johnson attorneys have been involved in both the defense and prosecution of multi-million dollar professional liability cases and have created much of the recently cited defense attorney malpractice law in Illinois and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
